Swavo connects to what you already use

If you already have a CRM, a management system or your own automations, Swavo does not ask you to drop them. Here is exactly what connects and how. The detail for whoever writes the code lives in the manual, linked at the bottom.

The short answer

Yes, Swavo has a documented REST API: from the Pro plan up you create the key yourself from the panel, under Settings → Integrations, without asking anyone. Yes, Swavo sends signed outbound webhooks: when a new lead comes in, your system knows within seconds. Yes, it works with Make and Zapier, and you do not need to install or commission any connector — both have a generic HTTP module that talks to Swavo as it is. You will not find a Swavo listing inside the Make and Zapier catalogues yet: you set the connection up by hand in about ten minutes, and it works exactly the same.

The API: when you go and fetch the data

A REST interface at https://portal.swavo.ai/api/v1, authenticated with a key in the x-api-key header. From there you read and write customers, service requests, appointments, staff, price lists and inventory. Responses always have the same shape, lists are paginated and sortable, and every key only ever sees your own company's data. You can revoke a key at any time, from the same panel where it was created.

Outbound webhooks: when Swavo tells you

This is the difference that actually matters for a lead. Without an outbound webhook your CRM has to come back every few minutes and ask «anything new?»; with one, Swavo knocks on your door the moment it happens. You register your own address, choose what you want to receive — a lead to call back, a service request, a booked appointment — and from then on it all lands there. If your system is temporarily down we retry on our own at increasing intervals: nothing is lost.

What people actually build with it

A plumber: whoever leaves their number at night lands in a shared sheet and a message reaches the owner's phone, so by seven in the morning the day's route is already decided. A restaurant: a booking taken over the phone goes straight into the floor-plan software, with nobody retyping it. A dental practice: a new contact lands in the CRM already tagged with where it came from, and the first call-back happens the same day. An agency: every lead is assigned in rotation to whoever is on sales duty, who gets a notification. A garage: a request opens a job card in the parts system by itself. And the simplest of all, which works for anyone: the contact appears in the team's Slack or Telegram channel, and whoever is free picks it up.

How you know the webhook really came from Swavo

Every message is signed with a secret only you and Swavo know (HMAC-SHA256), and the signature includes the timestamp: a genuine message captured and replayed a day later is rejected. We only accept https addresses, we do not follow redirects, and we never deliver to private network addresses. In the panel, next to every destination, a «Test» button knocks right away and tells you what answered — so you find the mistake before it costs you a real lead.

Make and Zapier, concretely

To receive leads in real time: in Make, start a scenario with «Webhooks → Custom webhook», copy the address it gives you and paste it into Swavo; in Zapier it is «Webhooks by Zapier → Catch Hook», which needs a paid plan. From there you connect your CRM, a spreadsheet, an email — whatever you want. To fetch data: in Make the «HTTP → Make a request» module, in Zapier «Webhooks by Zapier → GET», with the key in the header. Time required: an afternoon for anyone who has used Make once.

Integrations that need none of this

Some things connect with a single click, with no API and no automation platform: Google Calendar (Swavo's appointments and your own commitments in one agenda), your business email, WhatsApp Business, and Stripe for payments. And if the CRM included in Swavo is enough for you — customers, history, requests and appointments are already inside — you do not need to connect anything at all.

What it costs

Nothing extra: the API and outbound webhooks come with the Pro plan and above, with no add-on and no «Enterprise» tier to unlock. They are not on Free or Start: if you need them, that is the reason to move to Pro. There is also a sensible rate limit per key, which exists to protect the service, not to sell you the tier above.
